Pyrite is striking with its brilliant metallic luster and golden bronze hue, typical of the best Colombian specimens. Its twinned crystal structure is exceptionally well developed, with sharp edges and pure symmetry.
Dolomite forms a fine contrast to pyrite – with its light matte crystals it emphasizes the geometric precision and color depth of the entire specimen. This mineral association is characteristic of the Chivor area in the Boyacá department, which is known not only for the occurrence of emeralds, but also for pyrites of extraordinary quality and luster.
The specimen represents an excellent example of Colombian mineralogy – an aesthetically balanced combination of sharp crystals, harmonious contrast, and collectoré values, suitable for eaché quality mineralogicalé collections.
